I recently returned to Asheron's Call after being away for some time. While Decal certainly seems to work just fine and there seems to be some active plugin development, it almost seems like work on the Decal code base itself has come to a halt.
The main reason I ask this is that I've recently decided to pick up Decal plugin development for myself once again. However it seems like the filters and such associated with Decal are not being updated to reflect the latest features/additions to Asheron's Call. For example I've noticed constants missing for things like Gearcrafting and Trinkets.
While I have read about workarounds for these sort of issues by coercing your own values, it almost seems inconvenient to do so, considering Decal was intended to provide this information to the developer.
So is there anyone left working on the Decal codebase? Any of the original developers still actively playing Asheron's Call? What about accepting new developers to help update the filters and such? |

| I asked this same question on the IGN utilities forum and I was told there really isn't a decal team anymore, but there are ways to find the gearcrafting information by hard coding it into the program. This of course makes it harder to code anything for those objects, but it is still possible. Look for post from virindi and digero on the subject. Digero posted here I think and Virindi posted on the ign forums. |
